Last couple of weeks have been tough CF weeks for some reason. I don't even remember most of the specific WOD's without looking back at my journal, but remember lots of overhead stuff the week before. I was disappointed last Wednesday with the 5RM deadlift; previous was 148 and I was shooting for 153. I could pull it off the floor but kept losing my grip on the way up. I got 4 reps, the 3rd and 4th were really ugly as I struggled to keep my hands on the bar, then dropped it halfway up on the 5th. Should have tried the opposing grip but haven't used it yet and was hesitant to switch to it with no practice. Then this week started out great with "Annie" and the "Mini Cindy". I was psyched for the 1RM deadlifts, was sure I was going to PR with a 163, but lack of sleep and loss of concentration got the better of me. Next time. I tried the belt (thanks Lindsey) and it will definitely take some getting used to. I'm going to try to get in early once a week or so to get some more practice on the lifts. Must get stronger!
Speaking of stronger, watching the "Starting Strength" crew has been IMPRESSIVE! !! And the work they are doing now looks really challenging. You guys rock!
We start our 12-week training program for the half marathon next week, looking forward to that.
Diet has been good for the most part. The Greek yogart has become a daily component, the only dairy I have except for some Parmesan in my eggs once in a while and the occasional ice cream every other week or so.
Next week will be better!
