August Already!

A big thanks to Lindsey and Josh for a great party Saturday!

Speaking of "Josh", that Hero WOD Saturday was a stinker. I have a great deal of trouble doing OHS and planned on subbing front squats but decided at the last minute to do them with an empty 15# bar. Glad I did, feel like I can start putting some weight on it now. These damned inflexible shoulders!

Still doing well with nutrition, it is now a way of life. I did add some Greek plain nonfat yogurt a week ago because I was taking antibiotics for an ear infection. With a touch of raw honey and some walnuts or some fresh fruit it is delicious! And the 18 grams of protein aren't too shabby either. Except for the very infrequent treats of chocolate peanut butter ice cream (Love Boat is the best), this is the only dairy I am consuming. I think I may continue to indulge in the yogurt, great source of both protein and calcium. I find it amazing that cheese no longer calls to me, I used to eat a lot of cheese (translation: every day) with lots of whole grain crackers, then wondered why I was packing on the pounds.

Couple of PR's past couple of weeks: Back squat 3RM 103# and front squat 1RM 95#. Doing 1RM back squat tomorrow (Tuesday) and hope to get a PR. Current is 108 so shooting for 113+.

Wish I had started this 20 years ago, but it's never to late.
