I have been doing the prescribed CFE's although these weekend long runs are a pain. 8.5 miles last week then the 10K time trial today. I came very close to skipping the run this morning, had a couple of excuses ready, but I was wide awake at 6 and decided to get it over with. Big thanks to Shannon, Suzi, and Sarina, it is sooooo much easier to be motivated with other like-minded crazy people! It was cold but I had my cold gear on and I got to use the i-pod for the first time, Rich found some ear pieces that stay on. Not a bad run, I actually finished it 40 seconds faster than the Sanibel 10K 3 weeks ago. I am starting to have a glimmer of hope that I will be able to complete the Half in less than 2:15. This afternoon I took Tess for a 2-mile walk/jog to get her used to running with me, she did great! She and Holly were rewarded with a DQ cheeseburger and pup-cup of ice cream after the walk/run, I am having a couple of beers!
This week looks like a pretty full week of CFE's and we also have the Midpoint Madness Thursday night. There is an "easy run" for 60 to 90 minutes on the schedule for Saturday, perfect for a trail run at Caloosahatchee Regional Park. Should bring our cameras, certain to see some wild pigs.
Wow Diane! Great job on the 10K- I would not shake a stick at 40 sec! You are going to do great on the half, I know it!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to "own" that half marathon Diane :)
