It's been a while since I posted anything. Finished the half marathon on 11/21 and came in under 2:15 which was my goal, 2:13:09, 20 minutes faster than my first one! Came in 22nd out of 188 in my age group. Had a great run until after mile 9, then my legs started cramping, one muscle at a time at first, then in multiples of 2 and 3, alternating legs. That was an experience to remember! Still managed to run through them and had a little in the tank for the last mile. Then did the Turkey Trot the following Thursday, legs felt great and PR'd with a time of 26:05, 1st in my age group. Today did the River Run 10K and finished in 55:07, second in age group, over 2 minutes faster than the Sanibel 10K in October.
Ragnar is in just 33 days! We have a combined team, 6 of us from CFFM and 6 from Utah. Should be a great time. My parents and Rich are dropping me off at the start then heading to Key West to wait for us. They'll spend the rest of Friday and Saturday exploring until we finish, then it'll be off to the post-race party.
Today was a great day, first the 10K with some of the CFE girls, then the usual chores. This evening we had a beautiful bonfire out front and the neighbors joined us for hot dogs on the open fire. I had 2 turkey dogs wrapped in romaine and topped off with mustard and sauerkraut, delicious! Couple glasses of wine, then the s'mores! There is nothing better than perfectly fire-roasted marshmallows, a square of Hershey's chocolate, a dollop of natural peanut butter, squished between two pieces of cinnamon crisp graham crackers. What the hell, I ran 6.2 miles today, I had 2! Now we're settling down to watch Sly Stallone in "The Expendables". Love Stallone, and he is looking damned good for 60-something. Just had a scene with his shirt off, is that him or some sort of trick photography? I may have some more wine and proceed to yell at the TV in support of Sly and his group.
Congratulations on ALL of your PRs!! Your hard work is definitely paying off, young lady! Impressive. Hope to see you soon~
