"Keep Ringing the Bell"

I missed one CFE last week, skipped the "death by 10 meters". I won't miss one this week. Already did the 3 x 1 mile, 1st at 80%, 2nd at 90%, 3rd at 100%. There was no rest indicated so I did them consecutively and total time was 26:33 for an average pace of 8:51. The last mile was at a pace of 8:11. Since my PR for a 5k is 26:45 for an average pace 8:36 I think that wasn't bad for 80, 90, and 100% effort. I'm doing the 15 minute time trial tomorrow after the WOD and the bridge run on Saturday.

Nutrition has been pretty good. I think I need to bump up the protein and will add a protein drink, especially on workout days.

Thanks to Monica for the great article on "Potential". It came from Anywherefit in Germany, I think she said it is where her cousin works out. Anyway, it was very timely for me. I was accepting the fact that at my age, future gains would be minimal if any, that my main goal should be to hold the gains that I have made. I even commented to MK during the warm-up 400 yesterday that I didn't expect to get much faster. Then I read the post about potential. In the last paragraph he says "The good news is that physical potential does not expire. It has no shelf life. Whatever state you're in at whatever moment, you can always be better. SO BE BETTER." You can read the whole post at http://crossfitmobile.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html and check out the one on Septmber 23rd. I think I'll strive to keep "finding a way to keep ringing the bell."
