Birthday

What a difference a day makes. Although just one day has passed, I am suddenly chronologically a year older. 58 years ago I came into this world. I never understood the "birthday celebration", especially as an adult, so with the exception of cards and my husband and in-laws singing "happy birthday", it has been a normal day.

However, since this blog is a result of my participation in CrossFit, I will indulge in a little reflection. Over the years I have been on and fallen off the fitness bandwagon several times. Life would get in the way and I would lose momentum or interest and return to a less-than-fit state. At one point I gained a lot of weight. That won't be happening again! With CF, I can honestly say I feel better and stronger than I have since my early 20's, and I have no intention of going back to sedentary life and crappy diet. If I was giving out advice, it would be to never let life's roadblocks get in the way of maintaining physical heath. I wonder how strong I would be today if I never had significant lapses in fitness?
